In addition to his own photographic work, Tapy is a dedicated educator whose teaching is rooted in the belief that photography begins with attention, not technique. Drawing from his experience in street and documentary photography, he encourages students to move beyond surface-level aesthetics and engage more deeply with the historical, ethical, and emotional dimensions of the medium.

Through mentorship, structured courses, and his publication The Creative Connection, Tapy has developed an approach that balances practical fieldwork with critical study. With six distinct segments, each of which discussing the critical components of photography, his goal is to create a different approach to how photography education is created and recieved.

His teaching emphasizes visual literacy, the importance of studying photographic history, and the development of a personal language grounded in intention rather than imitation.

Rather than offering shortcuts, his focus is on long-term growth, helping artists build discipline, refine their perspective, and cultivate a practice that is both personally meaningful and culturally aware.

Tapy’s YouTube channel serves as an extension of his photographic practice and publication. He aims to make the Youtube an evolving space where craft, history, and philosophy intersect. Through long-form videos, he breaks down the process of seeing, drawing from influential photographers, personal fieldwork, and the ethical considerations that shape documentary image-making.

Rather than focusing on trends or quick tips, the channel is built around thoughtful, in-depth exploration. Each video aims to give artists a clearer understanding of not just how to make images, but why they matter, offering a slower, more intentional approach to learning in a fast-moving digital landscape.

Tapy’s Instagram functions as both a working archive and an educational front door into his practice.

Here, he shares short, bite-sized lessons on photography, covering craft, history, ethics, and the philosophy of seeing, designed to be direct, practical, and immediately applicable. These ideas often serve as the foundation for deeper explorations, later expanding into long-form articles and YouTube videos.

Alongside these teachings, the platform remains grounded in the work itself. Tapy regularly shares his latest photographs, offering a real-time look into his ongoing projects and time spent in the field. Through occasional live discussions, he opens the door for more direct conversation, creating space for dialogue around the medium, the process, and the questions that don’t have easy answers.

Together, it exists as both a place to learn and a place to look, where education and practice move in constant conversation with one another.
